What problem did they have?

Gifthub was a project that was ideated by two individuals, Chris and Ben Martineau. They wanted to create an app where you could make and share wishlists with friends, specifically for birthdays and christmas events. While they did have the software development skills needed to execute the project, they were looking for a platform to build it on.
